University of New Brunswick Caris Cougars defeated Saint Mary's Huskies 7-0 in Atlantic University Baseball League action Saturday. Game two was tied 1-1 in the forth inning when rain suspended the game. No make up date has been scheduled. But they lost a pair of games to St. Francis Xavier X-Men yesterday at Thompson Field. Game scores were 6-3 and 8-0.
Jake Waugh pitched the win for UNB Saturday. Craig Henman was the losing pitcher. UNB had 12 hits overall while the Huskies managed nine. Yesterday, Brian Garby had the win in the X-Men's 6-3 win. Nathan Fraser got the save. Andrew McNeil was the losing pitcher. Mark MacNevin had a homer for UNB. Fraser fired a four-hit shutout in the second game. Steve Murphy was the losing pitcher for the Cougars, allowing 10 hits.
Next action for UNB is Wednesday night in Moncton at 7:00 p.m. against ABU.
